The non-metals form acidic oxides. The metalloids form amphoteric oxides and the metals form basic oxides. For example: Boron trioxide is acidic, aluminium and gallium oxides are amphoteric while Indium and thallium oxides are basic. B2O3 + 3H20 == 2H3BO3

P block elements contain metals nonnmetals and metalloids. Metals form basic oxides nonnmetals forms acidic oxides while metalloids form amphoteric oxides metallic character increases down the group and decreases in periods when we move left to right.

p-block starts from 13th group and lies till 17th group in the periodic table. 13th group elements are metallic and form basic oxides, 14th group elements are metalloids and formamphoteric oxides and elements from 15th to 17th group are non-metals which from acidic oxides.
