Body Language is an important aspect of Communication. We communicate with others not just through the words we use but also through the use and manipulation of our bodies. Body Language is an essential aspect of Non- verbal Communication. Here, words are not spoken but the meaning is still comprehended by the listener. We tend to look away when we are not interested. We may not say that we are non interested using as many words but this non- verbal gesture of looking away is construed as lack of interest. Now let us address the question on what Body Language entails. Kinesics or Body Language entails Eye Contact (The way you look/ gaze at a person), Posture (The way you sit/ stand/ move), Gesture (Hand Movements) and Facial Expressions. Proxemics and Haptics which mean distance and touch respectively are also related to Non- Verbal Communication as is the Tone we use while speaking.
